Structure & Programshttp://www.units.it/facolta/index.php/from/didattica The University of Trieste, founded in 1924, is a medium-sized university which boasts a wide and almost complete range of university courses. It currently has 12 faculties (Advanced school of modern languages for interpreters and translators, Architecture, Economics, Engineering, Law, Education, Humanities, Medicine and surgery, Mathematical, physical and natural sciences, Pharmacy, Political sciences, Psichology), 24 Departments; 36 First cycle degree courses and 34 until completion of current enrolments; 42 second cycle degree courses and 34 courses until completion of current enrolments; 5 one-tier courses and 2 courses until completion of current enrolment; 1 former course system; 12 PhD Schools and 13 PhD courses; 12 Masters and 33 School of Masters (30 in medical area). The University is actively involved in student and staff exchange projects with universities within the UE and is currently engaged in close collaboration with several universities from Eastern Europe and other non-UE countries. Moreover the University participates in many research projects at national and international level. The present number of students enrolled at the University is approx. 21,000.
